Default Tip for cleanly applying a screen protector

After the screen protector is in place. To remove dust, you can pull up one
side of the screen protector and touch it with packaging tape to remove the
dust. Lay that side back down, and then do the other side. Crystal clean
finish.

That might depend on the particular screen protector and packaging tape
types, but it worked here with two leading brands.

Good luck and have fun.

Ditch the screen protector. It ain't going to scratch.

However the rest of the iToy/iPod needs protecting. Mines got a silicon
sleeve.

You might speak for everyone else, but I am a street (in-line) skater
and my iPhone needs any extra protection it can get.

I have the "tough skin" with detachable belt clip.

Well... the screen probably won't scratch -- but it might. I speak
from experience when I say that the iPhone/iPod screen certainly *can*
be scratched in the course of normal use.

Screen protectors (at least some) can also be useful for
glare prevention. There are a couple nice matte overlays (the names of
which escape me) that can make the device far more usable under adverse
lighting conditions. As an added bonus, some of these overlays have a
far smoother feel than the glass -- I've found that the bare glass is
prone to "catch" a bit, especially in humid areas. Screen protectors can
help with this (or at least some can.)

As for other protection, Griffin makes a two-piece hard shell that does
a marvelous job at protecting the device from impact damage. They make
one for the iPod Touch, the iPhone, and the iPhone 3G.
