Default Volume on MyTouch 4g?

Anyone have one of these? I find the volume is too low. Doesn't
matter what, ringer, playing videos, audio, etc. I'd like it a little
louder.... correction, my old ears NEED it louder.

I've set everything to max but it's still not loud enough.

I have a MyTouch 4G.

Which volume? Bluetooth? Speaker? Phone earpiece? Ringtones?

The ringtones are quite loud if you turn the volume all the way up.
Also, under Settings >> Sound, you can turn on Pocket Mode, which
increases the ring volume if the phone is in a pocket or bag. (Don't ask
me how they determine if the phone's in your pocket - I don't know)

The speaker is also loud, louder than any other phone I've owned...

Yes.

It is and they're not.

I have a BB 9700, HTC HD2, MyTouch 3G and the MyTouch 4g for
comparison, volume on the 4g is about 1/2 of the others. I suspect
I've a defective phone... <sigh>

PS, Pocket mode is on.

I've just reactivated the BB 9700, can't live with a phone I can't
hear. Too bad, I liked the MT4G....

Hold on.

My hearing isn't great and I can still hear the MT4G over just about
everything, including my own speaking voice (and I talk very loudly).

By definition, if you own a MyTouch 4G, it's under warranty -- because
it's a one-year manufacturer's warranty, and the phones didn't even go
on the market until November.

Try exchanging it. You may even be able to arrange a warranty exchange
at a store.

I'm going to the T-Mo store tomorrow and compare with another MT4G to
see if it's all in my mind....

The T-Mo store will have to do w/o me today, it's raining, not a very
common occurance here in the desert. My wheels don't like water at all
as nobody's found a way to waterproof the electronics so I'll visit
tomorrow when it's dry.

It rained here earlier. Are you in Arizona? Our storms are moving in
that general direction.

Oh my! What kind of car do you drive? A dune buggy?

Not much of a dune buggy but I do have one of those little flags on a
long whip mounted on the back, it seemed like a good idea after some
idiot ran over my previous scooter with his Suburban. I was crossing
the street with a WALK light when Mr. Unconscious whipped around the
corner and destroyed the front of the scooter and my left shoe, the
foot escaped with minor bruises but the scooter was totalled...

Yes, Phoenix. I decided I could make it to the store w/o using the
scooter. From their parking to the store is about the limit of my
walking ability but I just HAD to get the issue resolved and I did...

Sales guy (whom I know) whupped out a beautiful (I WANT ONE!) brand new
white MT4G and stuck my media card and battery in it, one video from
the media card and one ringtone convinced me my phone is exactly the
same volume as the new one. <sigh>

Maybe back to the BB 9700 is the answer?

About 25 miles/charge if the ground is level and I keep the speed down
a bit...
