Default Any Way to Have Android Notify About Voice Mail More Often?

Is there any built-in method - or third party applet - that would check for
voice mail every 30 minutes and use a sound to notify you of it?

By default my Android Samsung Droid 4G seems to be notifying me by a system
tone of voice mail about once every 10 hours (approximate). I called
Verizon support and asked if I can get a more frequent reminder tone, and
they said probably yes but they could not figure out how.

I get a single notification when the message comes in. If I miss that -
which frequently during a busy day I do - then the next notification is many
hours later.

I want a constant reminder every 30 minutes until I retrieve the voice mail.

Yes, before I posted I searched on voicemail applets and installed one that
claimed to give alerts on voice mail for $1.99. It didn't work.

So I was hoping to get recommendations from real human beings who use
Verizon with my model Android cell phone and who have and applet that works
with that combination.

Perhaps you can find something if you search the Market for 'voicemail
notifier'?

There is a setting in Gmail that allows you to get a notification tone
for each message, or only for the first unread message. Toggle the
setting (it can be hard to find, depending on the version of Android
you are running). On my gmail app running under 2.3.4, it's settings/
my email account/email notifications. The item is at the bottom of the
list (scroll down) on my phone. Depending on the email app you are
using, you may have the same sort of setting, since some of them
mirror gmail functionality, and some settings are account specific.

If tech support can't figure it out, ask to speak with someone in
their Product Marketing and Development department. They set all the
standards for equipment used on their network and are responsible for
all testing of said equipment.
