Any way to increase the brightness on Motorola V3m External Display?

I just got a Motorola V3m to replace the LG VX6100 from Verizon. The
external display on the Motorola is in nice color, but it is very dim
and difficult to read....expecially outside. Does anyone know of a
way to increase the brightness and/or contrast for the external
display (i.e., phone is closed)?
