Default Assigning Ringtones to Individuals with VX8300

Can someone give me a "for dummies" descritpion of doing this? I'm a
blind guy and I'm using the speech features of the VX8300 as far as they
will go. However, the submenus don't speak. So with some help, I've
figured out how to get to the list of available ringtones and can even
assign one as the default ringtone for the phone. How then can I take
people from the contact list and assign ringtones to them? Thanks.

Peter, I took the liberty of reposting your question on the LG forum at
HowardForums http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=116

I'll monitor that forum and post any reply to this NG.

Fowarded from HowardForums:

I will take a stab at this. The individual ringtones are not assigned from
the main ringtone menu, but rather inside the contact. From the speech menu
one can say "lookup Bob" or whatever and get into that contact. The nice
lady starts reading off the contact's phone numbers. Pressing the circular
"ok" button while she is talking will select "edit". You've probably done
this before and might have a better way of getting there.
Anyway, in the "edit contact" menu you start in the name field. Pressing
"down" will take you through "mobile 1", "home", "work", "email 1", "group",
"picture", and finally "ringtone". So, pressing "down" seven times will get
you to the ringtone option. Press the left softkey to select "set". This
brings you into the ringtone list. The default phone ringtone will be
highlighted, so you'll just go up or down to the desired tone. The left
softkey plays the tone, and when you've got the one you want, the circular
button is selects the tone. Once you've selected the tone, the circular
button saves the contact info, and you should be all set.
