Default Blackberry 8830 default ringer

Hi

hubby just got his bb8830 from work today. He would like to change the
default ringer to something he can record and play as ringer. Is it
possible?

Thanks

Go on to www.blackberry.com. There are a large number of good tutorials
under the heading blackberry101 or read the manual which also has that info
or go onto www.blackberryforums.com or www.crackberry.com and do a search
The short answer is yes.

Unlike some of the phones, the BB 8830 does not have the option to
record your own ringtone...however, you do have a couple of options:

1. Transfer an mp3 onto your media directory and select "Use as
ringtone" in your options menu.

2. Use your computer's sound recording software to record what you want
to use as the ringtone. Save this as an mp3 file. Proceed with option one.

I create my own ringtones in 'online editor'
(http://makeownringtone.com) and add them to my Blackberry. It takes a
few minutes and no charges.
