Default Blackberry Pearl 8130 Smartphone

I have an opportunity to upgrade to the Blackberry Pearl. I will admit I
am not a big phone user but this has the Internet and email. I wonder if
it has the Flash feature and downloading capabilities my main Internet
provider does not have. I have MSNTV2. Anybody have a Blackberry Pearl?
Thanks, Bob

I have a BB Pearl and love it. But I'm not sure I understand your
question(s). If you mean is it flash-video capable, I believe the answer is
'no'. I have tried searching for software to make it so but without success.

It can download some things, including software written for it and email
attachments, including jpg photos, but I don't understand what you mean by
"capabilities my main Internet provider does not have"? Many of the
functions a device can perform are not related to the ISP, so that statement
has thrown me.

Perhaps you can be more specific in what you want it to do?

To Carl, thanks for responding. Let me try to clear up what I said. My
Internet provider is MSNTV which is the Internet on my tv. No laptop or
computer. One feature that MSN doen not have, yet at least, is
Macromedia Flash. When somebody from a tv network says, "if you want to
see the last episode of "Survivor" go to CBS.com." In order to see any
tv repeats we need Flash which MSN does not have. That is what I was
wondering if this feature is on the Blackberry. You say no, I will
forget it. Bob

But that's technically a software limitation of the box sitting on your TV,
not your provider.

Ironic isn't it, that a "Web on your TV" device can't play TV from the web!

Forget it. While some mobiles have limited Flash support, no mobile phone
can play the repeat shows from the networks (believe me, I've tried!)

What you really need is a cheap PC with a TV output if watching network TV
from the internet is what you're after.

I believe Todd has hit all the nails on the head. And, no, the BB Pearl is
not flash-video capable. Good luck with figuring it all out.
