Bluetooth: Setting Up With Phone Question, Please ?
Hello,
Thanks for all the previous help.
Bought a new LG Revere Cel Phone from Verizon. No more do they include
a cable like in the old days to download the pix to one's PC; they want
you apparently to go thru them and upload, and pay per pix.
Anyway, it was suggested here that it is easy to do via Bluetooth, which
my new LG Revere phone has.
So, as suggested, I bought one of those small Bluetooth Dongles that
goes into the USB PC port.
Have it set up correctly, I think, and the PC seems to know it is there.
The cel phone indicates that it has "Found" the new Device.
But every time I tell the Cel Phone to "PAIR" it can't do it.
It then asks if the device codes match ?
If I say yes, it fails again, but next time, a new device code comes up.
Then, another failure, etc.
I guess I need the Device Codes ?
How do I find them for the PC ?
Do I also need it for the cel phone ? For the Dongle ?
Then, how would I enter them where appropriate ?
Have never done anything with Bluetooth before, and would appreciate any
(detailed) help with this very much.
Sure don't want to have to pay Verizon per pix just to get to the PC.

Bob, you might verify this on the appropriate Howard Forums board for your
phone. BitPim is a free program that I use to connect my old LG phone to my
PC. Then I can transfer pic, text, and sound files about as easy as on/off
a thumb drive.
I don't know much about BT. You might verify if you must transfer via BT or
you're willing to transfer via cable. I just Googled LG Revere USB cable
and found them at numerous places for about $6.

Did you check the documentation on the bluetooth dongle? My bluetooth
headset had a 4 digit numerical passcode that needed to be entered to allow
it to link to both my phone and to the PS3 when we had one. It is probably
asking for the device passcode.
