Thank you, Steven! Got $80 card for $74.40 with code on Pageplus. Might
as well charge the battery while the charger's on cheaper!
This takes some getting used to after having been had so many years on
postpaid! This $75 will last me into next year!
> This takes some getting used to after having been had so many years on

My mom is now on PagePlus. She probably uses 30 minutes a month, and
she's worried about only $4 in her account. I told her I'm waiting until
the balance is really low before I apply the 1400 minute card, so the
next expiration date is as far out as possible, but yesterday I finally
added the time to avoid any more worrying.
From $40/month postpaid to $4/month prepaid. When she tells her friends
I expect that I'll be deluged with requests for how to set up PagePlus
with a $20 Verizon InPulse handset.

They do some rounding. The $80 card adds 1400 6¢ minutes ($84). The $50
card adds 800 7¢ minutes ($56). The $25 card adds 300 9¢ minutes ($27)
and the $10 card adds 83 12¢ minutes ($10).
What's interesting is that if you're on the unlimited plan or the 1200
plan, you're better off buying the $50 card that gives you $56 of value
since it has the largest percentage bonus value of any card, and the per
minute cost is not applicable. PagePlus explicitly states that you can
use these cards to pay for the unlimited or 1200 plan--you don't have to
buy the cards that are the exact monthly amount of those plans (which
are sold at face value, no bonus).

That's the bonus....$84 credit for $74 cash....Not a bad return on
investment, actually. Some Borg customers give back that much money in
unused minutes every month!

How have you managed that? On the PP site the longest period I can set
for auto-reload is 30 days. I'd love to set up a 120-day auto-reload.

Why should they? You're still paying "the Borg" and using their service.
Who do you think Page Plus writes a big fat check to each month for
wholesale airtime?

LOL, he still hasn't answered that.
He probably means it's set up for auto-refill after four months, then he
has to go in and set it up again. Not a bad plan, the worst that can
happen is that you forget to change the auto-refill date after the first
auto-refill and it adds another $10 after 30 days.

Yes, they keep track of the cards you buy and the cost of the minutes
for each card.
They used to do it much differently. All minutes were billed at 12¢ of
"PagePlus money" but an $80 card gave you $168 in "PagePlus Money" so
you got 1400 12¢ minutes (1400 x 12¢ = $168). You always knew how many
minutes you had left. There was another advantage in that the 50¢
monthly fee, the 8¢ text messages, and the 59¢ roaming fee were all paid
with PagePlus money. Since you could buy $168 in PagePlus money for
$73.60, that meant that texting really cost as little as 3.5¢, the
monthly fee cost as little as 22¢, and roaming cost as little as 26¢.

It's Larry's term for Verizon Wireless. On a side note, Larry also

Why will it matter? You'll be so far ahead of what a regular Verizon
customer has paid in the last 4 months who has NOTHING to show for it as
his minutes are stolen from him every month there's just no comparison. I
don't even count the 83 minutes (12c/min) as it's only $2.50/month, less
than one cup at Starbucky's to keep my number current. I can't worry about
what minutes get used first.....when the TOTAL minutes get down to
something I find uncomfortable, I simply go back to the web stores and buy
another $80 card to restore a big balance.....so I never run out.
$80 goes a LONG ways when I only use about 120-140 mins a month....it's
almost forever!

He just wants to be sure that his 6 cent minutes don't become 12 cent

I'm going to be calling customer service first thing in the morning,
myself. My Z6m was locked and in my shirt pocket all day today. I reset
the minutes and data timers/counters when I bought this service. Until
today, there has been 0 bytes of data used, 0 minutes of data interconnect
time.
Tonight, the data timer is a little over 3 minutes and the byte counter
suddenly reads a little over 37KB of data usage I'm not going to be paying
for. The phone was on, it has no email account or any addresses in any
system. They were all carefully deleted before PagePlus. Why would it run
a couple of weeks before suddenly using 37KB of overpriced Verizon data?
I intend to find out that answer and how to stop it in the morning....
I'll dump this Z6m for a phone-only CDMA phone tomorrow if I'm told it
can't be stopped. SOMETHING called into my phone today....I didn't even
get a single voice call all day! There are no messages, there's no browser
loaded into its BREW and I never had any apps, and the phone was LOCKED
when it happened.
