I have one and I agree that the keys take some getting used to. Did
you get the software upgrade that has speakerphone capability?
Definitely get that if you haven't.

Also, there's a yahoo group for Chocolate owners:

Jeez, it must be marvelous being 16 years old and not having a care in the
world except the graphic on your cell phone ;-)

The whole idea of screen savers, and other cell phone graphics, has always
amazed me.

Do people have *nothing* better to do than watch their cell phones? <g>

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!!

Not a big deal but i too like a lil' eye candy, and if it's animated it
also serves as a visual indicator your phone hasn't locked up. I once
had a moto that would lock up quite often though just by looking at it
when flipped opened you'd never know until you attempted a call or some
other function, of course phones are a bit more reliable now so it's
less likely to happen but some graphics can be quite useful.
Here are some animated wallpapers i did for my VX8300

it looks like your "flurry" graphics link is the only one that works.
Can't download any of the others.

Sorry bout' that, comcast has a 25mb limit for personal web pages so i

Default VX8300 ((Hacking))

Hi. Here is what I'd like to do:

I want to change the startup VCAST/Verizon screen.

Which file contains this info, is it accessible using BitPim, or would
it have to be flashed out with a firmware change? I am familiar with
BREW SDK.

I am currently using v01 firmware solely for the purpose of having an
MP3 player with an equalizer and to bypass VCAST spamware player. (I
heard v03 forces you to use the VCAST player).

Any ideas/ insight, replies or related information would be appreciated.

Happy Thanksgiving.

I have not yet figured out how to do this and don't really care to
change it as much as get rid of it altogether.
VZW used to allow you to disable startup animation,
boy do i miss that.

Yeah, I do want to get rid of it. I figure it has to just be an
animation somewhere on the phone, but I don't want to have to search
every resource if someone already knows where exactly the animation is.
I figure it's better to "replace" it.. as a gentler approach, so as not
to disturb anything, even with a 1 x 1 pixel image, depending on the
format of the animation. ..

But yep! Someone find out where the animation rears it's ugly .. self.

Yes, that would probably be the only way it would work as i'm sure the
system will search for that file at startup. Gonna look into this a bit
more, will post if i find anything.
