Default Comments on Blackberry Data Service from Verizon

I'm thinking of switching from Cingular to Verizon for my Blackberry
service. My company utilizes the Blackberry Enterprise Server.

Any commentary on Verizon's service?

Thanks,
George

I switched from Cingular to Verizon about 2 years ago. I have a 7130e and
also pay the $15/month data option for tethering via USB cable. Coverage is
very good and so are the data speeds. The 7130e is power hungry and must be
charged every day. I could go 2 weeks on my old Cingular RIM 957
blackberry. I also have my phone on the 7130e. Decent coverage and
adequate phone. I just wish Blackberry's had voice activated dialing like
my Moto E815.

In DC and the surrounding suburbs, there's excellent digital coverage
and 1xEVDO almost everywhere, and the data service on my BB is very
good. I typically get a message on the BB a minute *before* it comes up
in Outlook. The PDF attachment reader used in the Verizon
implementation is not quite as good as the one used in Cingular's, based
on comparison with a colleague's BB, but that may be due to differing
units. For web browsing, 1xEVDO is much better than the former 1xRTT,
but browsing is still slow on pages with many elements because of the
inherent delays in wireless handling of the back-and-forth data
requests. I can't tell you if it will be better or worse than browsing
on a Cingular BB. I have installed the Google Maps and Gmail
applications, and their performance is very good (again, using 1xEVDO).

I have a Blackberry 7250 from VZW and I love it. It's super-fast
running with EV-DO, and I get coverage just about everywhere, even in
like the total middle of nowhere!

I have an RSS Reader (Newsclip), Google Maps, and the Gmail application
installed, and it all runs great.

Switch to Verizon, you won't regret it.
