Default Ebay Phones

Anyone know if Verizon gets bent out of shape over activating a phone not
purchased from them?

Thanks and God bless

AFAIK, no, as long as the model is one they carry (or have carried),
i.e. an Alltel version of an identical Verizon phone. Sprint, OTOH,
won't activate a non-Sprint phone even if it's the same model as one
of theirs.

For an eBay phone, I'd get the ESN from the seller and run it by
Verizon before buying, to be safe. Verizon won't allow older non-
E911-capable phones on theirnetwork, nor particular "defective" (by
virture of software) models, like some of the Amp'd Mobile phones.

I just bought one off ebay, wasn't able to activate the ESN online in My
Account, so I was a bit worried. I called them and they activated it no
problem. I even told them I bought it off ebay.

Note the phone I purchased was an exact make and model that was previously
sold by Verizon. If you're trying to activate something VZW has never sold
before, YMMV.
