I can't remember if I learned about this service in this news group or at
Howard Forums. It's an alternative to the $5 per month Verizon charges to
access the web on Mobile Web 2.0 . Hopke.net gives you full access to the
web for $1 per month, you buy a year in advance. I just started my 3rd year
with Hopke and I highly recommend it.
If you want web access on your phone but you don't want to pay $5 per month
to Verizon you might consider Hopke.net. I tried some of the free proxies
but they were either very slow to connect or hear today and gone tomorrow.
Using the service just requires changing a few setting in your phone.

Amid all the media hysteria over the price of gasoline and the profits of
"Big Oil," one simple fact has been repeatedly overlooked: The oil
companies' earnings are just under 10 percent of the price of a gallon of
gas, while taxes take 17 percent. Yet who ever accuses the government of
"greed"?
