How to Tether an HTC phone to PagePlus?

I have a Verizon SMT5800 (HTC) Windows Mobile phone that I'd like to
tether to my laptop and use on PagePlus (Verizon MVNO) data ($1.20/M.
The software from Verizon doesn't work for this purpose.

Is there some sort of generic software to use for this purpose?
