Andrea, what size card are you using? I use 4GB SD cards from RiTek and
NONE of the laptop computers from any major manufacturer could read them
until the guys at RiTek pointed me to:
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum...s.cfm?t=517257
where the top post in this thread gives great instructions on downloading
a better driver from sabercomputers and making 2 changes to the Registry.
Even brand new laptops are using the same TI multicard IC and the driver
dates on them dates back to 2000 and 2002 when the biggest card they had
was 512K. So, the old drivers are confounded by a 2G or 4G card, even in
a brand new laptop!
If you're using a desktop computer, it's driver will see and can use the
bigger cards. Laptops all require this new driver to use them.
This new driver will ask you to let it format the card. Once you agree
to that, there is even more usable space on the card for more data!...
Hope this helps you as you didn't say what your computer was or your
cards.
BTW, Newegg.com has the Ritek 4GB SD cards for $57, last I looked,
guaranteed for life! 4GB cards were $250 at Best Buy and CC...
