Default If I return a new phone bought from verizons site, can I cancel my new service agreement?

I have been with Verizon for years. My VX4400 is getting old and I
don't get great reception in my house. People with newer Verizon
phones seem to do better in my house. I want to consider the new
VX8350. This is the only phone I really like from Verizon right now
(looks, size features), however there is almost no reviews for this
new model and I would rather not wait until there are. If I buy it
online from verizon I can get an additional $50 discount and with a
new 2-year agreement, this phone will be free for me. Here is my
question. If I order it online and try it out and decide I don't like
it. Can I return it to a store or back to Verizon and cancel the new 2-
year agreement? Why would I do that? I simply don't like any of ther
other phones right now and I don't want a new agreement with Verizon
if the 8350 turns out not to meet my needs.
Thanks

You can pull the plug within 15 days but I wouldn't think you could go back
to your month to month status. Maybe let the missus sign a new acct and test
the phone that way...

The ESN number of the phone can be used to move your service to a new phone
and back to the old one again at no charge (assuming the Verizon account
webpage system works right). Thus, you could buy the new phone from outside
Verizon and try it with returns covered by the outside store policy. The
advantage is you don't make a new 2 year commitment to Verizon. If the new
fancy phone sells on eBay, I have had good luck occasionally buying
something on eBay, and then re-selling the same item back on eBay with less
than a 10% loss. One time I made a profit!
