Default Kroger employee discounts

I work for Ralphs Grocery, a division of Kroger. I understand that I'm
eligible for a discount with Verizon. A former coworker says he got a deal.

I called the local Verizon Wireless store and nobody knows anything about
it.

Does this still exist?

Check with your personnel office and see if they have some sort of
agreement with VZW. If they do, in fact, have an agreement they should
be able to give you the "magic words" to get your discount.

It's really nice of them to do this by e-mail address. Get ready for the
SPAM.

"Eligibility by e-mail address" is simply spam waiting to happen.

Lately, I've had companies I deal with (e.g. my bank, insurance companies,
etc.) ask me for an e-mail address over the phone. My standard response is
that I get enough spam. None of them has ever responded that they won't
spam me. Usually, they just move on to the next issue. I stand by my
position.

Last October I supplied my e-mail address to Verizon to find out if I was
eligible. I received an e-mail back saying I "may be eligible...." (They
can't tell you definitely because you have to eventually provide them proof
with specified documents.) No spam. Last month I "did it again" to be sure,
because I was finally ready to buy. Again, no spam. Either that or my work
address has an incredible spam filter.

If you're still scared to do so, Verizon invites you to phone them.

Why not create a junk mail account just for these people? If you get too
much spam, start over with another.

Gmail is free and they have forwarding and POP3 access.

Verizon does not spam as a result of an inquiry for an employee discount.
They also use the work related ID to verify your employment with the agency
you claim to be related to.
