A. I was also considering the LG 9900, which has bluetooth 1.2, while
8600 has bluetooth 1.1. BT 1.2 incorporates frequency hopping digital
spread spectrum technology for better voice quality. Has anyone used
BT1.2 and is it a big difference in sound quality? (Yes, I have a BT1.2
reverse compatible headset)
B. I NEED to be able to transfer my own short mp3 ringtones. I
currently use a razr v3c + motorola phone tools software + mini usb
cable to do this. I saw that the 8600 has newly enable BT profiles,
such as OPP and FTP. Does that mean i could send my phone an mp3
ringtone via my laptop's BT, or on the microSD card and transfer it? I
have heard rumor of people with the 9900 using BT to transfer their
ringtones, and it only does the same BT profiles, without full OBEX
capability, so I'm guessing the 8600 is capable of this too. Any
experienece?
C. Has anyone heard rumor of the 8600 coming out in white or other
colors (like LG did with the chocolate 6 mos. later)? If so, when? I
would really prefer white, but no use waiting if it's not gonna happen.

I believe that for LG phones, Bluetooth, and BitPim are fully capable of
transfering whatever you want to the phones. BitPim 0.9.08, the latest
revision has profiles for the vx8500 and vx9800, but no 8600 but that
might be another future revision to correct.
BTW, when I connect a miniUSB to my wife's RAZr, it returns an
unsupported charger error. Does an edited seem take care of this?
I sometimes get that error for unauthorized charger, but if I just plug
it in again it usually takes care of that. But the razr is picky about
mini-usb cables that aren't its standard charger. The mini usb cable I
use that works most of the time is one from my old palm pda, but if i
plug it into the palm's mini usb charger, it doesn't work.
