Default LG Phone has no Service

I have a friends LG phone that was dropped in a swimming pool. I dried it
out with a heat gun & the only thing that's not working is a "no service"
screen when it's turned on. All other functions seem to be OK.
Is there any way a signal could be sent to the phone to re-establish the
service or is it a lost cause?
Thanks

Yea I think so. I had it sitting in the hot sun all day & still no signal.
It's funny though, everything else seems to work fine. Ring tones, menu's,
directory but no signal.

Is the phone activated with a working phone number? ;-)

What has that got to do with it?
A phone that is not activated will still find signal and even call customer
service or 911....

It was a working phone right up to the minute it was dropped in the pool.
It's toast now.

Pure water is supposed to be non-conductive, but any tiny impurities and it
conducts. Thus, I might try soaking and rinsing out the phone with
distilled water. After you have dried it out in the sun again, re-install
the battery and hope.
