Default LG Revere Questions

Hello,

On the LG Revered flip phone:

On the right hand sid, upper part (not the flip cover), there is a small
slot/hole.

Next to it is a very small label saying CDMA By Qualcomm...

Any idea what this slot/hole is for ?

BTW: if I remove the battery for a very short time (a few minutes),
would I have lost anything like my addresses, etc. after I re-install
the battery ? Or the Verizon OS ?

Thanks,
Bob

Removing the battery won't cause loss of data. Maybe if the phone was
without a battery for a very long time, or maybe if the battery was pulled
while you were editing contact data you might lose the recent edits. The
data that was there the last time phone was turned off should still be there
until erased or the phone destroyed.

One way to find out is to try it.

Another possible solution is RTFM.

Can you copy the data on your phone (names, phone numbers, etc) to your
computer? This is a good thing to do if you can. Software to do this
*may* have come with your phone. If not, you may be able to purchase
software to do it.

On my LG cu400, on the rear of the unit, above the battery cover, and
above and to the right of the speaker grill, there is a small hole, in
whose depths I can just make out a Phillips head screw; just beneath
that, right alongside the speaker grill, is a very small transparent
label saying (in two lines): QUALCOMM / 3G UMTS.

I suspect a rubber plug once filled that hole, and protected the screw.
Rubber plugs certainly do fill other similar holes in my hand set, and
do protect similar Phillips head screws that reside within them.

The Qualcomm labels identify Qualcomm as the licensor of the cited
technology (CDMA in the case of your "Revered", UMTS in the case of
my 3G GSM cu400).

Not unless it's a *really* old 20th Century phone, from the time of the
volatile PIM devices like the Palm IIIe -- for all of this 21st century,
I believe, and for rather longer, cell phones have used *non*-volatile
memory for storage, precisely so that prolonged battery absences would
*not* destroy address books, stored SMS messages, and the like.

HTH. Cheers, -- tlvp
