Default LG VX5300 "my sounds" question

I just got a VX5300. The ringtones are pretty basic, but I noticed
there are three or four brief sound clips in "my sounds". Is there any
way to get these clips into "my ringtones"? I can't seem to see how to
do it.

On the 8300, you can do it with BitPim. You copy the sound clips out to a
computer and then copy them back in as ringtones. I did it with Bluetooth, but
if the 5300 doesn't have that, I guess a USB cable should work.

The sound clip I did it with had actually been a ringtone on the VX7000. My
wife used it on her 7000 and wanted to do the same on her new 8300. Why was
its status changed from one model to the next? I have no idea.

It's free software that allows up and downloads from cell phones to a
PC or Laptop. You do need a data cable with drivers though.

A utility that runs on a PC and lets you send data to or from a cell phone,
typically via Bluetooth or a USB cable. It comes in multiple versions, each
capable of interfacing with one or more phone models. The best way to find out
about it is to go to the Howard Forums Web site and search for "BitPIM" and
the brand name and model number of your phone.
