If you had VZW coverage from Feb 2003 through July 2006, you are
entitled to collect a refund on your 2006 taxes the 3% the company
included on these bills for the Federal Excise Tax. In my case, this
3% ends up being much more than the standard $30-$60 credit the IRS
allows you to select as a default. However, VZW only makes available
online the past 6 or 7 months of bills, so proof cannot be gathered
for prior bills to make this calculation (unless you pay $5-$6/bill
and wait 8 weeks for a copy from VZW).
In contrast, ATT.com has provided online to its customers access to
*all* of the bills during this period in PDF form, despite its normal
procedure of only providing the last 6 months of bills. ATT.com has
taken the extra step for its customers while VZW has not regarding
this issue.
If you find it worth your while, go to VZW's customer service link and
select "feedback" for "website" and make a request for these past
bills to be made available online in PDF form as ATT.com has. I'm
hoping that if more people make such a request, VZW will react quickly
now that tax season is upon us.

Chris
