Default Move to PagePlus?

Been a low/medium use VZW customer since AirTouch days-- love the
network and coverage but hate the prices, crippled phones, etc.

Thinking about porting over to PagePlus-- about half the price. It's my
understanding that I will be on the same network with the same coverage.

Yes? No?

No, Yes.

You'll be on Verizon's network, but most roaming, which is now included
on your Verizon plan, will be at extra cost. If you rarely venture out
of Verizon territory then paying occasional roaming charges is not a big
deal. If you spend a lot of time in non-Verizon areas (i.e. Alaska or
many rural areas) then you might not want to switch.

If you use under 600 minutes/month, the 5.3c/min Page Plus prepaid card
plan is for you. My sellphone bill last month was about $11 for all the
service I used! PagePlus is an absolute YES!! No gimmicks, no funny
charges added on to make a $39.95 Verizon plan into $48/mo for no
reason.....NO FUNNY BUSINESS, no arguing with contracts, No free phones,
either. Phones at a thrift shop on PP that only supports phone are 99c!
Buy you a spare phone and power supply that work. Dial 611 on it at the
thrift shop to see if you can get Sprint/Alltel or Verizon to answer to
see if it works. Switching phones is almost too easy if yours
croaks....or...er, ah...some drunk drops it in a toilet.

This is the most helpful and informative page I know of to get the most
out of every cent in cellular service using Page Plus.

Basically, you must buy "something", the $10/83 minute card just before
your account expires at the end of the 4 month period (120 days). You
buy the $10 card at a discount from one of the many discounters for $9
and change then simply dial the #737 to call PP and pick the PIN entry
selection from the voice menu. Punch in your pin and you're in
business.

If you use more than 83 minutes every 4 months, buy the card with more
minutes for a cheaper per minute rate for a bigger discount. The
cheapest minutes would be 1400 minutes per 4 month period at about $72
at discount. $72/4 = $18/month. 1400/4 = 350 minutes per month...for
$18 total cost!

If you use less than 350/month, it's not a problem as your minutes NEVER
EXPIRE unless you fail to buy something every 4 months. But if you have
2272 minutes piled up from too much buying and fail to buy "something"
every 4 months IT ALL GETS ERASED AND YOUR NUMBER AND SERVICE ARE
CANCELLED! Never let that happen....just buy a $10 card until you use
up the piled up minutes.

NOTHING beats this plan for JUST sellphone service!

$29.95 for 1200 min + 1200 text OR MMS + 50MB of data if you use lots of
minutes and texting. You do your math to figure out if limited texting
at 8c/message is a better or worse cost the way you use it.

$39.95 for unlimited talk and texting without picture messaging and 20MB
data is for the superusers....(c;]

Solid indicator roaming, like Verizon does to Sprint or Alltel inside our
fav WalMart is NOT charged roaming. That's "most roaming" for most people
and doesn't cost extra.

Blinking light roaming off-system, even onto the AMPS carriers if you have
an old phone with AMPS that works better out West, is charged against your
precharged money at roaming rates....not pretty, but sometimes necessary.

PagePlus' PRL is 51618 and I can find little information about it. But,
this PRL tells you when you are being charged roaming by BLINKING THE
ROAMING INDICATOR.... Solid indicator roaming is just regular charges.

Pageplus roams onto the Alltel system in rural SC with solid indicator
where Verizon never had good service. Now with access to BOTH systems,
service is much more solid here! I've yet to find anywhere the Pageplus
phone won't get a very usable signal.....in Eastern SC.
