The US auction of AWS (Advanced Wireless Services) spectrum in the
1.7GHz and 2.1GHz bands has at last drawn to a close, raising $13.9bn
for the government in the sale of the largest block of spectrum
(1,112 licenses) offered by the FCC regulator.
As had become clear in the later rounds, the main winners are
T-Mobile, the Sprint-cable partnership, the other major cellcos and
two regional operators, MetroPCS and Leap. While the Sprint-cable
plans for national quad play services spell the greatest medium term
threat to the big two cellcos, Cingular and Verizon Wireless, in the
immediate future they may be more stressed by the progress of flat
rate carriers MetroPCS and Leap, which will now be positioned to
undercut the incumbents' rates in every major US city, exerting more
pressure on the giants' already squeezed margins.

Oh gees... Some how he found out that VZW is not radically
different in their policies, products and service offerings from
everyone else in the industry. You'd think that having more
than a couple of customers would have been a clue?

You sound so sure of yourself. I can say after trying one today I found
a few things better then verizon. Better sounding, lot longer battery
life. and In my home area lot better signal.
I've been with them and I'm not going to look back. A local store that
just opened last week is going to pass along a nice deal on a phone.
One thing is for sure. I won't be returning to verizon again. C/S from
verizon called me today after telling them I'll be shutting it off in a
few weeks. They were offering me all kinds of discounts and such. I just
hung up on them. They could care less about you while your in contract,
But once your free of them they tend to change there tune.
It was nice knowing you, But would not want to be you. (Verizon)
I wonder when verizon will start there 30 day trial like cingular is
doing now ?
Keep sucking up to verizon nessnet. Who knows, you might get 10 free
mins on your next bill.

If your service is so bad, like Cingular's is here, you try to force
customers to stay on the crap system as long as possible so you can fleece
them. Signing a contract also fleeces them when they've had enough and
flee, screaming in terror, as they throw their useless toyphone into the
dumpster.
Good service doesn't need a contract. Their requirement speaks volumes for
itself.
Don't sign anything. You're not a slave, no matter what the government
thinks.
