Default No software for CDM 9900

My Audiovox CDM 9900 was replaced last December when it was stolen.

Lately the phone is having problems with reverting to analogue mode as well
as disconnecting occasionally when I hit a button to answer a call.

Rebooting the phone fixes the analogue/digital problem for awhile.

I took it into the local Verizon store to have it checked out after
consulting with a rep by phone and was told the phone needs new software to
fix the problem.

The Verizon store told me the software wasn't available to them anymore and
that I should buy a new phone.

I feel that if they can't supply me with the software - then they should
give me a new phone. I have insurance but why should I spend yet even more
$$$?

This phone model is only two yrs. old and while lacking Bluetooth, MP3 (who
cares) and a couple of other inconsequential items still has the best screen
& reception I've ever seen (when it works). It sold out immediately when it
was introduced.

Is there something wrong with this picture?

Thanks.

Cell carriers have no interest in supporting older phones since they make $$
off selling you new ones. I feel your pain - you might want to check eBay
for a replacement 9900. Last time I looked they were going in the $45-50
range.
