Those maps aren't up-to-date. Verizon has acquired even more PCS since
then.
What I've noticed with Verizon is that their PCS service doesn't suck
in the country because they tend not to build it out in the country
(though when they do they seem to install enough towers to cover
most places). Of the places I've been recently, there's no sign of
Verizon service in Wisconsin away from the cities (e.g. 54481), nor
anywhere in west Texas (e.g. 76901), even though they have big-spectrum
PCS licenses in both places.
In east Florida there is no cellular CDMA service at all. Cingular
had one of the licences and AT&T Wireless had the other, so now AT&T
has both.
