Default PRL update GRRRR so many mixed messages which option do I choose>>> Opt #1 or #2

PRL update GRRRR so many mixed messages Opt #1 or #2

Ok which one is it or if I do *22899 will it take care of everything.

Trying to help a friend do the prl or roaming update so she did the
*228 and only opt # 1 came up so she chose that ... how do we get to
option #2>

Please help I want to make sure she did the right thing it gets a bit
nervewracking when you read this

"In some rare instances, dialing *228 may alter your Calling Plan’s
Airtime Rate and Coverage Area."

She is in her home area but will be treavelling out of it tomorrow for
the next month or so?

TIA
Jan

#1 is to program a new phone via OTA (Over the Air). If you do a #1 on
an existing phone, it won't hurt it.

If you're just doing a PRL update, do #2.

I've done *22899 for a PRL update, and it worked just fine. I think it
does #1.

If you had waited to hear the rest of the message, you would have heard
the "press 2" option. I've been doing it for years and years. It works.
Just wait until you hear the beeps at the end before shutting the phone
off. The screen will have a message saying it's "committed" or
something like that.

If she has updated her PRLs in her home area, it probably won't have any
effect on her phone when she is out of her home area. If, and only if,
she has a problem getting a signal when locals can get one in the new
place, should she do *228 - 2.

Sometimes updating PRLs out of one's home area will take away towers.
Tech-dude at VZW and I talked about that the other day.

*22899 works fine. That's all you need.
