Default Q.: about Hawaii's MobiPCS ...

When in Hawaii using a PagePlus-activated Verizon-branded handset,
is MobiPCS one of the carriers one might wind up roaming on?
Or is Verizon itself too predominant to have that apt to happen?

Alternatively, does Hawaii have any attractive short-term PayGo
GSM plans? (By "short-term" I mean 2-3 (or no more than 4) weeks.)
That could be of interest not only for voice but also for data.

TIA; and cheers, -- tlvp

I don't know where in Hawaii that you're going but I just spent some time in
the Kona area of the Big Island and I think that I was on Verizon everywhere
I went. Of course, I was using a Verizon phone and I use Verizon and not
Page Plus. (I think that may change once this contract ends.)

I'm pretty sure Verizon is the landline provider for most of Hawaii. VZW
should have a big presence there too.

Thanks, Steve. So our PP-activated VZW-branded handsets should do fine.

I'm thinking so. Their coverage map shows strong digital coverage over most of the state.
