Q.: VZW's BackupAssistant & PagePlus

A Samsung SCH-a930 handset that came my way, formerly on VZW,
but ultimately to get reactivated with Page Plus (PP), includes
the VZW utility BackupAssistant (cf.

about which I'm curious:

1) Will that BackupAssistant be of any use once I'm on PP?
2) If so, how do I set up its little storage-area-in-the-cloud?
3) And, if not, how do I expunge it from the Samsung handset?

The VZW page

tells me things I probably can't do without a verizonwireless account,
whence my concern above.

You can't use it. but the phone will keep trying to and make you
reject it every time you turn it on. Anyone know how to get thsi to
stop?

Re 3), a little button pushing on my a930 shows that the keystroke sequence

[MENU] | [GET IT NOW] | [5] | DownArrow ,

to get to the GET GOING screen with Backup Assistant highlighted,
gives you an "Options" value for the right soft-key, and using that
lets you scroll down to "3. Cancel Subscription".

That's an irreversible act, AFAIK, so I've not done it yet, but ... .
