Default Qwest goes with Verizon

VERY smart move...

Qwest (the RBOC out west) has been selling re-branded Sprint service
and handsets under the name Qwest wireless. With limited success.

This will soon change.

Today, an agreement with VZW was announced.

But to be fair, that "limited success" has nothing to do with being a
Sprint MVNO, but more to do with lousy (to non-existent) marketing efforts
and weak price plans.

The press release sounds like Qwest is throwing in the towel and will just
sell Verizon service as Verizon, and dump the whole MVNO idea. So now
they'll sell DirecTV for TV, and Verizon for wireless. Gee, if they can
find a phone company to provide DSL and voice to their customers for them,
they won't need an infrastructure at all... ;-)

You know that is a great analogy. And right on the money! How could they
lose?
