Razr V3m or LG VX8300 as 1st phone w/Verizon

I'm a tech type person who would end up using most of the features of the
phones. Which would be a better performer?

The LG phone is endlessly hackable... here's just a sample of what you
can do:

Most noticeably, enabling MP3 support and free WAP if you are able to
set up or find an http proxy.

Also search this group for a cool way to get GPS coordinates using the
LG.

Howard Forums also has many cool guides to getting the most out of the
8300 without giving Verizon any extra money. The moto may have the
"coolness" thing going for it now, but there seems to be a lot of
complaints about battery life.

I have both, and a krzr, no complaints on any of the phones. The krzr
battery is fine with battery life; the razr with the extended life
battery is great… likewise with the 8300 with a standard battery. None
of the phones are use for music or videos, so I cannot give my opinion
on those features. Overall these three phones perform fine, I have no
complaints.

The VX8300 from LG will perform better by everything that I have read. I own
this phone, but I have never used the V3M to contrast the two. The VX8300 is
the best phone I have owned to date.

One reason I switched from an e815 to the V3m was to get VZnavigator
capability. I don't know for sure, but the VX8300 is older and may not
support VZnavigator. Regarding reception and voice quality, I find the V3m
excellent - about as good as the e815.

Older? The 8300 is a brand new model and supports Navigator.

Oops, my apologies! I confused the VX8300 with the VX8100. You are correct
that the VX8300 supports VZnavigator.
