Bringing this back on topic to Verizon Wireless, I heard from friend
who just purchased a Palm Treo, he said he called CS to activate it on
Verizon, they said he needed a data plan, he said he was fine with the
per megabyte charge because he wasn't going to use the phone for data
very much, they said OK and allowed him to activate.

I suspect he'll decide to get a data plan sooner or later but at least
he has the choice.

Too bad he can't connect to Allel with it. It would have only been $10/mo
to add data to a PDAphone on Alltel for unlimited data service....$25/mo
for tethered regular phones, which is what I've been paying for 22-
30GB/month without complaints.

.....now he'll have to get screwed!......

Again Larry give out wrong information.

Adding a Smartphone feature to a non Smartpack plan is $29.99 month.
Tethering is now $30 month regardless of whether it is a smartphone or
not.
