Re: navigator works in Canada?

It does not work when operating off Canadian access, but the system does
contain at least some Canadian street maps. If you mark a destination in
Canada and then plan a trip before crossing the border, it will get you
there (as long as you do not deviate from the course or try to see a map
during the trip.)

I use mine going to Vancouver all the time, and sometimes I can get a US
signal from high hills near the border, but generally it is USA only.

(Note that the system also contains street maps of places like Havanna, but
cuts out going south mid-Mexico.)

I took a weekend trip to Montreal from Boston with my VX8300. Roamed on
an unregistered carrier (phone just said "Roaming"). Going through some
malls and seeing some kiosks, Telus seemed to be the CDMA carrier.
Rogers and Fido were GSM. I presume I was roaming on Telus.

Should be interesting to see what the bill says. I also wonder, if I had
T-Mobile, who the preferred roaming partner would have been. (granted I
could have also likely selected another if desired...)
