There are roaming areas on that new map where I have not been charged
roaming.
They show the Golden State Cellular areas as roaming coverage (Sonora,
Yosemite, Mariposa) but I have never had to do double-dialing, and have
not seen my balance fall by 59 cents per minute. On my Verizon phone it
clearly shows roaming on Golden State Cellular in those areas, and you
can't call voice mail using *86. I know that Verizon owns about 25% of
Golden State Cellular, but I don't know what difference that makes.
