Default Remote or loud ringer?

I've heard of a number of people talking about ditching their landlines and
using nothing but a cell phone. How practical is that given the fact that
many (most?) people have land line phones in more than one room of their
house. My cell phone ringers are not nearly loud enough to hear two or
three rooms away and my chance of carrying the phone with me whenever I move
to another room is virtually zip! I'd guess that I'd miss as many calls as I
catch and I wouldn't think that would be acceptable. Any thoughts on how to
make a cell phone ring loud enough to be heard in another room?

I can't vouch for how well the system works but there's always the
Dock-N-Talk system which connects to your house wiring.

I was also reading in consumers reports about Uniden having a cordless phone
(ELBT 595) that connects via Bluetooth to their cordless model. I'm not sure
if it would connect to house wiring as well. Uniden & VTech are coming out
with other models next year that might offer house wiring connections.

You could make incoming calls on the cell phone ring your existing
wired phones. Google "Dock N Talk".
