To Elector, Robert Coe and Barry (and anyone else who tried to help!).
I GOT IT!
Using the el cheapo Bluetooth USB dongle I just purchased from Newegg
for about $15 and the Bitpim software, I was able to take my .mp3 music
files, .mid sound files any other ditties I could find and store them
on my MicroSD inside of the LG VX8300 phone and use them as Ringtones.
Finally.
In this way, my Ringtones don't cost me anything, my phone memory
doesn't fill up and I can move, change, delete and/or add contacts,
music, wallpaper, ringtones, etc with no effort, directly from my PC to
my phone.
I used the included software drivers that came on the CD with the
Bluetooth dongle (I believe the brand is AZIO??); paired the phone with
the dongle and away I went.
Biggest headache was realizing that the port I needed to tell the
Bitpim software about was port 40. Who knew. That port information was
given to me after I installed the dongle under WinXP SP2.
Anyway, thanks to all for your help and guidance.
Have a great holiday.
