Default So Did They Pull the Plug Today?

Verizon Wireless was reportedly expected to pull the analog plug today. So
did they? Anyone got an AMPS signal?

Correct. AMPS is not required after February 18th.

It was working today. I was in an AMPS only area in the Sierra Nevada,
and it worked fine, but no GSM, and the CDMA signal wasn't strong enough
to make a call.

AMPS operational on both A and B systems (Alltel and Verizon) in Eastern SC
at 0800 2/19/08. I just fired up one of my old, trusty Motorola TX200
bagphones and 611 worked on both systems....(c;

So much for that rumor......

Noone died from all that power, but a few had a "tingly feeling" when I
pressed SEND, probably a Pavlovian reaction to company RF danger
propaganda....

God it sounded good, pure FM fidelity. Even the music on hold sounded like
an RCA Red Label tape at 7.5 ips, not that gurgling sound CDMA makes.
