Default speakerphone problem

We recently got a samsung A870 cell phone with a verizon account. The
speakerphone can't be turned on if someone calls, and has to be turned
on before dialing.

Anyone know of a cell phone that has a speaker that can be turned on
(and off) during a call? We want one with bluetooth also.

Thanks.

Motorola Razr & E815 both work with this.

I just tested my A870. It allows me to enter + exit speakerphone mode
during a call just fine, using the lower button on the right hand side of
the phone. I have to hold the button for a 1/2 second for it to activate.
There do NOT seem to be any settings or options that affect Speakerphone
mode. Is it possible your phone is defective ?

PS

Later I found out I could NOT go into speakerphone while the call is
"dialing".
Once the call setup is complete + answered, pushing th ebutton on the side
caused the speakerphone to activate (or deactivate).

In article <ef09b00mgg@news4.newsguy.com>, zara took the hamburger

My speakerphone works just fine when in a call. I can turn it on or off
but you have to keep it held in for a second.
