Interesting. The corporate parent of Taco Bell moves a hell of a lot
of fast food. YUM Corporation also owns KFC, Pizza Hut, and Long John
Silvers'. If they decided to outfit all of those stores with Wi-Fi, it
would be a rather large network.
Using this network for voice traffic, one could attain service that
rivals Sprint or T-Mobile in quality.

Their food is pretty decent, compare it to MacDonald's! Taco Bell is
also cheaper and they help the neighborhood by eliminating all the
stray cats and dogs.... well, what did you think that "Mystery Meat"
was? <G>
I've noticed that Coco's here has gone to free WiFi in all their
restaurants and Denny's has done the same in some, ditto Ruby Tuesday,
etc. etc.
When I log on to the free WiFi in these places the first thing I see is
a menu with their specials, etc. Not bad advertising, IMHO.

Taco Bell is just one more of the Bell companies that could be
re-acquired by AT&T.

Not at Taco Bell, I live in a Hispanic neighborhood and one evening,
after stopping at McDonalds, Arbys and BurgerKing I found Taco Bell the
only drive through where the clerk spoke English well enough for me to
be able order. Go figure....

Or Chinese in P.F. Changs. or Italians at Olive Garden. There are all
American restaurants serving American food. You will never find "Chinese
Chicken Salad" in China.

There is a great mom & pop taqueria near here. The folks are from the
Oxaca region. They make fantastic food. I always suggest them when I am
out and food comes up because I like real food not the big box
industrial version so I promote places that make good food that don't
spend $10 million/year to tell you how good they are instead of being
good. A few months ago I went to one place and a woman brought up "we
went to that place you mentioned and it wasn't authentic like you said,
they didn't even know what aplebees "taco bowls" were..."

Why would a Mexican want to visit a "Taco Bell"? He can probably get a
better meal for less, dining at home.
