Lets see...for every 100 computers sold, 96 are PCs, 2 are Macs and 2 are
based on other technology. So I would use that as a basis. Macs *ARE NOT*
impervious to viruses.

And they blue screen a lot more often (when running WIndows) that a real PC!

More reason to bury your head in the sand?

I have nothing againt Macs...I use both PCs and Macs. But the arrogance of
some Mac owners is ludicrous. Macs are far from perfect, are not immune to
exploits and viruses, and there sure as heck a lot less dsfotware available
for Macs!

That you *KNOW* of. If you are not runnign any AV, and the virus does not
manifest itself in an obvious way, you would not know it.

You cannot claim that you have never had a virus. You have no way of
proving that, because your arrogant posts indicate that you don't run any
antivirus scanners.

Macs are certainly NOT immune. However, there are a number of
features of Windows that certainly don't help the situation. One
of them is being able to double-click on executable code that came
from an outside source (email, web site, USENET) and RUN it without
even having to save it as a disk file. Another is Windows hiding
file extensions so you can't tell the difference between a piece
of malware and an image.

Also, Windows usually gets set up (fixed in Vista, I think) with all
users having administrative privileges. That's not a good thing for
viruses being able to write on and infect system files (at least on
systems with more than one user, other users get infected when the first
one does. That's less likely if users can't write on each other's files.)

I do....They don't run the millions of freeware programs because Apple
tried to make them proprietary to boost profits. Yeah, I know...they have
an emulator. God that sucks.

I'm no fan of Micro$not or Uncle Bill, but you gotta give him credit for
making it a helluva great toy when he released the product to the hackers
to develop their own software.

It ran Apple into the MP3 business....(c;

What a fantastic specimen of Mac-zealot intelligence, or at least the lack
of.

For the record, the Mac friends of which I wrote manage to tout the Mac, and
diss MS, without making themselves look like complete idiots. Unlike Kerby.

Wow, your copy-and-paste skills are impressive. Maybe someday you can
move up to--ready for this?--an "original thought." Yea it's a tough
concept for you at the moment, but stick with it.

I like long shots, so I'm rooting for ya'!

You and your fudge-packing buddy, Birdbrain -err... "Hawk", have my
permission to have the final word in this thread, because I know you don't
have the mental ability to pass. Do you, Pavlov?

I'll be working on my Mac checking my Apple shares whilst you two will be
crying over your crashing PeeCees and M$ financial worries.

Toodles, boys...

Ah, the "gay" card. A sure sign of the functionally illiterate.
Certainly not an original thought. (Hey, I took a risk on the long shot
thing.)

I haven't seen anyone crying. Paranoid delusions? Projecting?

Was amused by your use of this though:
User-Agent: Microsoft-Entourage/11.1.0.040913

Too funny. Cry about MS and then turn right around and use their
products. Hypocrite.

Straw-man argument. Office formats have nothing to do with Usenet, and
there are plenty of alternatives, even for the Mac. And since you didn't
use Entourage to post your reply you already knew that.

I won't get into the "and can't" comment.

It's simple. You are not running any antivirus. Your computer could be
infected, and you would never know, *because you are not running any
antivirus software".

Most viruses do not announce themselves. Unless you have a way to detect
viruses, you cannot say with any certainty that there are no viruses on your
computer.
