IIRC, Verizon allows unlocked phones on their network but only if it's a
model they sell- i.e. you could use an Alltel Razr instead of a Verizon
one. I don't believe they'll activate any model they didn't offer.
(Sprint's even worse- they only allow Sprint phones- even the same model
sold by a different compatible carrier isn't allowed.)

In theory, any 800/1900MHz CDMA phone will work, but again, Verizon only
allows certain models to be activated, and these must be GPS-enabled (to
comply with E-911.) Ironically, however, Verizon prepaid resellers like
PagePlus will activate virtually anything.
