Default USB Adapter for PC5740 aircard

Hello.

The Vice President of our company has purchased a Dell Laptop (Latitude X1).
This is a very compact laptop which, I found out after I had installed the
VZAccess Manager for the PC5740, doesn't have a PCMCIA card slot. Is there
an USB Adapter for PCMCIA card that will work with the PC5740?

Thanks in advance.

Google search:
Results 1 - 10 of about 3,710,000 for USB to PCMCIA adapter. (0.19 seconds)
Take your pick. The aircard should work in all of them.

Yes, the U132 device is what the OP needs. I use one with my VZW Kyocera
KPC650 and Dell Inspiron 6400.

You cannot use any old "memory card reader" with the VZW wireless cards.
The U132 device that Dave R. refers to below is what the OP needs. It is a
very specialized device designed expressly for this purpose.

If the Latitude X1 has an ExpressCard slot, you can purchase the newly
released Verizon Novatel V640 Express Card, and skip the bulky (and
expensive) USB adapter.

Paul, thanks. I'm the OP and we will take a look at
the U132 because PC5740 is listed in its specs.

If I'm not mistaken, the X1 was released prior to ExpressCard slots.

Have a look at http://www.elandigitalsystems.com/buyourproducts.php
for various distributors and, possibly, better pricing.

[You can buy a UL-132 USB to PCMCIA
adapter but VZAcess will not work although the card works. Or
replace the 5740 with a V640 for $200]
