VX-8300 Speakers

For anyone with an LG VX-8300: do the speakers distort at higher volume
levels? I just got mine and it does do so, especially with music. Just
checking to see if it's normal for this particular phone. TIA

Mine sound fine at full volume... however I've never downloaded anything
from the V-Cast service... it's all stuff I encoded myself and put onto
the phone with the MicroSD card.

When I've downloaded from Vz, much of their ringtones, etc, are highly
over-compressed and distort at higher volume, IMO. OTOH, it is a simple
job to roll your own rings and music, bypassing the Vz paid portals.

Get BitPim (google), bluetooth for your computer, whatever ripping
software you want, pair your computer and the VX8300, open Bitpim and
transfer to your heart's content. Google LG VX8300 hacks for additional.

I just tried transferring my own music files, via TransFlash card, and no
distortion at full volume. In fact the only distortion I've heard are from
Verizon's own sound files. As you say, too much compression could explain
that though. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. It seems that I only have the problem with
Verizon-supplied sound files so I'll just transfer my own via memory card
from now on.
