Default VX8300: BT vs data cable

I'm in the process of upgrading to VX8300. While researching the advantages
of Bluetooth I found devices(adapters) that plug into a computers USB port
to allow communication with a BT device. Will this replace my data cable?
Can I transfer my phone data using my bitpim program & can I connect to the
1rx or EVDO service using this device? The device I'm looking at is a anycom
250 http://tinyurl.com/yy2pe9 . Before I shell out for this device I want to
make sure it'll do what I want it to, or I'll just stick with the BT
headsets. TIA

I bought a similar bluetooth adapter and downloaded bitpim. It took a
bit of fooling around to finally get the connection worked out.

Once working it is good for working with the phonebook, calendar, etc,
but the bt connection is too slow for things like copying mp3s - for
that I take out the memory card and plug it into my printer's card
reader port.

There may be better ways, this is just what I've discovered so far.

Roughrider,
For $30 at Verizon you get the usb cable and a pair of earphones. Works
fine for me, but the BT is probably great too. I think it is a special they
have on right now, but may be ongoing.
