Default bought the wrong heat sink for p4?

I asked the guy in the shop for a quiet heatsink for an old P4. He sold
me an Igloo 4360 - 3.20 GHz.

But my 'old' p4 is a 1.8GHz and this heatsink is difficult to fit.

Did he sell me the wrong thing or am I just a duffer noob?

I had no problem at all putting the old very very noisy heatsink back,
so..

It is a Socket 478 so it should fit properly. Here is a link to the
installation instructions.

If your 'old P4' is a socket 423 then yes, he did sell you the wrong one.
