Bright LCD Monitor

My Fujitsu LCD monitor just went peanuts the day after the end of
warranty...
When looking for a replacement, I saw a damn bright LCD monitor, with
crisp characters and nice colours (HP TFT 20.1" W2007V BrightView).
It's high contrast is very appealing, but on the other hand the screen
is reflective and one can see on it lots of light coming from room
environment. Of course, I saw it in a store with lots of lights in the
ceiling, which is very different from an office at home.
Does anyone works with this kind of monitor and what are the
experiences?

yes we have ACER brightscreens in our office and I have also just bought a
Novatech for my daughter with the same and they are very easy on the eye.

yes its wise to have them away from direct light but as we were discussing
at work your eye focuses on the pixel layer which although only a few
millimetres behind the screen convinces the brain there are no reflections.

As long as there aren't fluorescent bulbs "over your shoulder", a
reflective screen is OK. I've had this LCD for a few years now, with
a single overhead light in the room, and no problems with reflections.

I was quite worried about reflections at the store, because the store
was all fluorescent overhead lighting, and all you could see was
reflections from the lights. As long as you have some control over
the positioning of the monitor with respect to lighting, you should be
OK.
