Default Dell 650 poweredge can't boot of secondary ide channel

Hi,

I have a dell 650 poweredge, and have just tried disconnecting c: (
primary channel ) to check it boots ok from d: ( secondary )

however it doesnt. Also there's no option in the bios to boot from d:,
so is it not supported? seems a bit stupid to me...

Dunno if this is the best place to get support on such servers, they're
quite specialist..

Rgds,
Dan

Go here download the User's Guide.

Says you should be able to select both boot order and which
hard drive.

yup, but in the hard drive sequence list, it just says bios devices,
and embedded st180(?) which is the c drive. I Can't find the option to
allow it to boot from d, if c doesnt exist.

What happens if you move the C drive to the D drive position? Perhaps
you've no boot partition on your current D drive.
