Drive letter assignment

When my system was built primary drive ended up designated as drive H:
Windows Vista will not allow me to change and reassign designation of
drive to C: Does anybody know of utility that will accomplish this
without destruction of data?

You might be able to finagle a drive letter change by *adding* a drive
letter (C) to your H drive, then latter deleting the original drive
letter (H).

I think that's a really bad idea though. There are likely to be
serveral paths embedded in the registry and configuration files that
point to the H drive.
