Default Error after hardware install

Just installed a Wacom serial tablet. Tablet works fine with stylus, but am
getting an error messaage after boot up. Windows requests I insert disk to
load drivers. When I close this window it reports hardware not installed.
How do I get rid of this error message please? Using Win XP SP2

Martin

Check in Device Manager to see if there are errors with the device
drivers (for the wacom).
Check in the software of the device for drivers.

Go to Wacom's website and get the latest drivers...
the CD that came with your tablet my not have the current drivers on it...

I know my GF has a Wacom...and had to update the drivers after some Windows
updates

I had already downloaded and installed the new drivers. Wacom's instructions
say you can install the new driver over the top of the old. DON'T. That was
my problem. I had to uninstall the drivers and then re-install the new
ones. That fixed the problem.

Glad it's working now.

BTW: once in a great while...on first boot...there is an error in loading
the drivers for the Wacom...
and a reboot is required.

It does not happen that often...but even the new drivers they now have are
not quite perfect.
(at least for XP_64bit)
