Default Laptop problem next part

Hello

Few days ago i have bought a DV8000t HP laptop and i have a problem with
display. When i run it under VGA mode everything works ok,but if i try to
change the resolution screen turns off,and system looks like freezed.I did
restore the system from oryginal partition and when system ask me to give
the user name display driver starts to work wrong, screen blinks few times
and turns off. What could it be,i have the latest drivers from HP website

Now i know that when the problem is when the external power supply is
connected. On the battery laptop works fine...any sugestions
